Ho! Ho! Hoe!??
I hope everybody had a swell Christmas with their families and or friends
I had a driving lesson with my Dad (I went on the Main Road!
), cleaned my room (don’t ask; I just randomly started doing it for some reason
) and watched the movie 2012 with my Dad. As you can see, my Christmas this year consisted a lot of Father-Daughter bonding time.
Last Christmas, I remember reading in the newspaper about how women felt offended with the Christmas slugline (or rather Santa’s laugh), ‘Ho! Ho! Ho!’ as it sounds like, well, ‘hoe! hoe! hoe!’. Here’s an extract from Wikipedia:
“There have been false urban legends claiming that use of this laugh is being discouraged in Australian malls by Westaff, a recruitment firm supplying many of the mall Santas. Supposedly, the firm claimed that the laugh, when used loudly, could be frightening to children and could even be considered derogatory to women, and recommended that a Santa lowering his voice and saying “ha ha ha” might be more welcoming. However, these legends have been proven false”
So was that why I was afraid of taking a picture with Santa when I was a child? I clearly remember kicking and crying in my local shopping centre, but I cannot recall the ‘creepy dangerous laugh’ from Santa.
‘Ho Ho Ho’ is actually the postal code for sending letter’s to Santa in Canada (or so Wikipedia tells me…):
- SANTA CLAUS
- NORTH POLE H0H 0H0
- CANADA
A few days ago I made a list of ‘Things to do’ during these school holidays. As weird as this may sound, but I’m aiming to do EVERYTHING on the list. I think I have figured myself out when it comes down to completing things. I only complete the very necessary things (i.e. school assignments), but I never end up achieving/completing the things that I do not really have to complete. I am a quitter.
The end.
So this time, I will complete this list! I will, I will, I will! They say one needs to make short-term goals right??
I even bothered to write up my schedule for a week.
I think I will note my completion of each thing on my list in my blog to (hopefully) help me complete the list sooner.
Part II of my trip will be in my next blog! I promise. <3
