I just saved 3 lives.

No really, I’m not kidding. How did I do it? Well..you’ll find out.

About a fortnight ago, I went along with my school group (there was actually 31 that turned up, but only 29 could end up donating) to The Red Cross to well…donate blood! It was my first time to donate, and I was pretty nervous about the pain, after all they were draining 470mL (almost half a litre) of blood from me. So as we were crossing the road, my friends and I (there was about 5 of us) was crossing the road. Half way, a bus started to come in our direction o_O

We were paralyzed. We just stood there. I mean what the hell, the little red man was still flashing, SO WE COULD STILL CROSS. We were already half way across the road dammit! And what made me even more angry was that the bus driver was yelling at us. >_<

Anyway, so we arrived, and had to answer a million questions from your name and address to “have you had male to male sex in the past 12 months”. Um no, I haven’t actually >_>

So after that, I just chatted with Sam and amongst others until I was to be interviewed. The guy who interviewed me was kind of creepy…he was short and lanky with white hair, and as I walked in he looked suspicious and a little suss and asked me how much I weighed (you have to be over 50kg to donate). He then took out his ipod/itouch and randomly started playing music x_x So I was like wtf?!

It came to a point in the interview where he asked me if I’ve been involved with “handcuffs” recently. I paused for a moment, realising that he wasn’t asking if I’ve been involved in crime, but rather sexual activity. ~_~ Again, I responded with a no, and he nodded his head like one of those weird guys that sit in their car with blasting music.

So I went around to this open area where they extract your blood, and I think I appeared to be very nervous. Which I was mind you. So they put a needle in my vein that didn’t even look like a needle, it looked like a thumbtack with a tube attached to it. It was an uncomfortable feeling having the needle in me for 10 minutes, and my arm felt weak, especially because I had to keep on squeezing this stress ball to keep my blood pumping.

After that, I was escorted to the eating area and I was served immediately. I ordered a strawberry milkshake, and it tasted foul because it was too sweet, and a bit powerdery at the bottom. ~_~ Apparently I was supposed to go up and get food “when I was ready” but the person who served me didn’t tell me -_-” So I went up and got a hot dog with my classmate, and that didn’t exactly taste great either.

As Sam and I were leaving, we found our way back to the train station, and had to buy our tickets. The line was SO long. I think we spent half an hour trying to buy our stupid tickets, because the machines were sort of broken and wouldn’t take notes as payment. >_< I think there were a lot of people that day because there was an ACDC concert on that night. Such perfect timing.

By the time we bought our tickets, we ran into our classmates and joined them for the train ride.

So that’s how I saved 3 lives. And I’m planning to do it again.

Anyway, I know you’d expect some updates from me seeing as I’ve been a little “dead”. I’ve been evading the internet as much as I can as it is such a bad distraction for me from school work. I’m choosing to read books in my spare time as not only is it relaxing, but it somewhat helps me in English as well. Fun and educational? What are the chances of that. Anyway, the best way to keep in contact with me is through my twitter

So that’ll be all folks, have a lovely weekend. <3
